Sheikh Ahmed al-Nufais, the imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait, who is also a renowned Quran reciter, was among the participants.
The seminar began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Cambodian qari Salehin Muslim, who is a student at the faculty of theology.
Then, Abdullah Abu Shawar, a faculty member of the university, talked about the important status of the Quran among Muslims.
He also said theology faculties should support Quran memorizers in society, especially among the younger generation, Ammon News reported.
He said the Amman Arab University is a supporter of the Quran and the people of the Quran and keeps hosting Quran reciters from Jordan and other countries.
Al-Nufais, in his speech, underlined the necessity to pay attention to raising Quranic generations and acting upon the teachings and commandments of the Quran.
The seminar also included a number of Quranic and religious programs.
The Amman Arab University is a private university in Amman that is mainly for graduate studies.
